COMIC: Healing at the Family Dinner...
(COMIC) Trying to respond differently to old disses. Idk – what the hell!
What’s up fam! This is a comic I made after spending time with my sister in law’s family for Christmas dinner. They are Moroccan and, from my understanding, more open to the magic of witchcraft (broad generalization, my bad). My Pakistani family in particular is not impressed with my witchy ways. My two brothers and parents consistently make fun of me reading tarot and astrology, a passion close to my heart. This always added to the list of things that made me feel different and unappreciated growing up, as the only girl + middle child + queer one + arty one + etc. Being with the Moroccans makes me feel so appreciated for these gifts that my own family disregards so quickly. This experience gave me hope that maybe we can all have experiences of re-framing our gifts that our own family may not have seen before. And that, my guys, is HEALING.
ANYWHO, haven’t posted in here almost all freaking year. I recently got a bunch of new subscribers (thank you for having faith in me thoughts, people!) and that is motivating me to share my ideas more. So watch me get my shit together in 2024 – let’s fuggin goooo.
Happy New Year, homies. Peace be with you!
